Dougie Runciman, who farms near Lauder in the Scottish Borders, recently purchased a new HE-VA 4m folding V Profile Front Press with hydraulic shattaboards from his local Rickerby's branch at Cornmill.

"It is extremely well made, the V profile rings on the front press consolidate the soil by pressing across the full width and smoothing and lumps in the ground, even in wet and heavy conditions", Dougie explained.

He went on to say, "The shattaboards are hydraulically controllable from the tractor seat which is a great help when working in variable land. Also being hydraulic folding makes transporting on the road very safe."

Dougie, with his sons Angus and Ewan, farm and contract farm alongside a contracting enterprise will sow around 2,000 acres of winter barley, wheat, oats and spring barley.
