Grass Roller

Farms and fields are spread over larger distances and yet need the same attention from heavy ballast grass rolls in the spring that they have had in the past.

The Grass Roller uses existing HE-VA Rolls technology to solve this increasing problem for today's grassland farmer and contractor.

Cultivated Ground

Not only can you use the HE-VA Grass Roller to consolidate grassland, it is also ideal for work on cultivated ground.

With the addition of two rows of harrowing tines and a levelling bar, you have a very useful multi-purpose field roller for existing grassland for thatch removal or seedbed preparation. A HE-VA Multi-Seeder and mounting kit is also available. 

The Grass Roller's hydraulic folding system is linked into two accumulators and a hydraulic pressure gauge. The gauge allows the operator to set the amount of weight transfer from the central section to the wings, dependent on ground conditions and how much water is in the roller sections.

Grassland rolls without a weight transfer system tend to exert the highest ground pressure in the centre as the chassis of the rolls, drawbar and wheels are above the middle roll section.

Even with a basic sprung weight transfer system the hinges at the end of the centre roller section negate much of the transfer effect.

FREE FLOATING ROLLER SECTIONS - HE-VA Rolls have free floating roller sections and the SAT weight transfer system which uses hydraulic accumulators and a setting gauge to allow the operator to redistribute additional frame weight from the centre section to the wings ensuring even weight distribution across the full width of the rolls!

Independent Flotation and 5 Pivot Points 
Centre pivoting on the two wing sections, two folding pivots and the pivoting drawbar eye allow individual sections to follow the contours. Add to this the floating inner links which join the wing sections to the centre rolls section allowing all three sections to float completely independently and you have the best possible contour adaption.

The weight of the roller can be increased by over 70% by filling the Roller Tubes with water as ballast if required, this provides for very effective consolidation on spring grassland or before reseeding cultivated land.

HE-VA's clever folding system allows the operator to fold or unfold the machine from the tractor seat in seconds using only two spool valves, when folded the wings are effectively locked automatically for road transport.

The Grass Roller is made with spun chamfered steel ends on each section, these ensure that there is no damage done to the grass when turning sharply on the headlands. Drum thickness: 610 mm tube = 10mm, 710mm tube - 11mm. 

The 3m Rigid Grass Roller comes as either a mounted or trailed machine. The rigid models are also offered with the option of 2 rows of tines and a levelling bar that can be seen on the larger Contractors Grass Roller models.

The HE-VA Farmers Grass Roller has a working width of 6.3m (20ft) and incorporates HE-VA's tried and tested Special Active Transfer (SAT) weight distribution system. This ensures even pressure across the working width when rolling. A three section tip folding design allows each section to float independently, while centre pivots on each section ensure ground contours are followed.

The ability to water ballast the Grass Roller significantly increases the machines working weight and yet large bearings and a 610mm diameter roller ensure it is relatively easy to pull. The chamfered roller edges on each roll section also ensure that there is no damage done to the grass surface by scrubbing when turning on the headlands. 

The Farmers Grass Roller is a simpler version of the Contractors Grass Roller but is not available with the accessories for seeding and scarifying the grass.

The 6.3m & 8.2m Contractors Grass Roller provides effective consolidation for existing grassland or cultivated land ready for seeding. By adding the optional levelling bar and tines and you have a useful scarifier and light cultivator. For the complete solution, a seeder mounting bracket and Multi-Seeder can be mounted onto the Grass Roller giving you the option to reseed or overseed grassland, undersow crops and apply other small seeds where required.
